rhythm&blues, tribal, techno post punk/rock psyhedelic
Ever since their first performance at the INmusic festival in Zagreb, there is a particularly good connection between this Dutch-New Zealand band and the Croatian audience. The trio has won the audience over with their euphoric and hypnotic live performances during which the dancing never stops. My Baby have been around since 2012, but the intensity of their musical ride fuelled by rhythm and blues, alternative dance music and psychedelic elements remains undiminished.
Starting with the “My Baby Loves Voodoo!” record published in 2013, the band has continued to develop their sound through the records to follow: “Shamanaid” (2015), “Remedy II EP” (2015), “Prehistoric Rhythm” (2017), “MOUNAIKI ~ By the Bright of Night” (2018) and “Live!” (2019). The currently promoted record, “sake sake sake”, was released in 2022 during the still present pandemic circumstances, which, according to the band members, influenced the somewhat darker tone of this release. So far, the band has played almost all the renowned European festivals, including Glastonbury (UK), Isle of Wight (UK), Sziget (HU), Exit (RS), Fusin (DE), Lowlands (NL) and Pinkpop (NL).
My Baby are: Cato van Dijck (lead vocals, bass and violin), Joost van Dijck (drums), and Daniel “Dafreez” Johnston (guitars).
KOIKOI
genre-fluid, ass-moving, mood-swinging indie rock
It’s a huge pleasure to present the next big regional scene act – the genre-fluid, ass-moving, mood-swinging indie rock bend from the city of Belgrade – KOIKOI.
Genre-wise, KOIKOI are usually – and too easily – referred to as an indie rock band, but their music brings far more than that; disco-punk, dream-pop, post-punk, echoes of new wave and ethno music moments… All of it is to be found within their conceptual masterpieces.
The very beginning of KOIKOI’s functioning is essentially bound to the Belgrade-based platform “HALI GALI”, which includes a cooperation of mutually supporting bands. During the pandemic-influenced 2021, the band released their first record, “Pozivi”, published by the Slovenian independent record label “Moonlee Records”. The record’s “Mississippi” single won over both the audience and the critique and placed the band in the spotlights.
Such a hidden jewel could not have remained unhidden for too long, so 2022 saw them playing many important festivals where the band left quite an impression, such as EXIT (RS), KONTAKT (RS), INmusic (HR), Arsenal (RS) and MENT (SI).
Koikoi are: Marko Grabež (guitar, vocals), Ivana Miljković (synth, vocals), Emilija Đorđević (bass, vocals) and Ivan Pavlović “Gizmo” (drums, samples).
LHD
garage surf psihodelic avantgarde soul
The name of the band is comprised of the initial letters of the band members’ names – Lada, Hrvoje and Dinko. For many – if not all – experienced followers of Croatian music scene this makes it clear – LDC includes some of the members of the never forgotten instrumental surf-rock band from Sisak, Croatia – the “Bambi Molesters”.
After the breakup of the “Bambi Molesters” in 2018, Lada, Hrvoje and Dinko have continued working and creating as an instrumental rock trio, relying primarily on their surf/garage legacy. Their debut album, “Off the Grid”, was published in 2022 by the “Dirty Old Label”. With this record the band members took a step further, crossing the idiomatic genre boundaries and leading their audience on an unencumbered surf-, garage-, psychedelic- and soul-fuelled journey.
Seductive melodies, a measure of good taste that can be felt in each of the tracks, energetic expression… LHD offers it all. As if one is exposed to the soundtrack of a never recorded movie devoted to the last romantic heroes… The spirit of the “Bambi Molesters” lives on. It comes as no surprise, then, that “Off the Grid” has found its place within the numerous music websites’ list of the best records of 2022.
Zmaj Orko Star
new euro impro jazz experimental groove
Zmaj Orko Star are: Zoran Majstorović (Zmaj) – specialized in string instruments, Borko Rupena (Orko) – drums, and Toni Starešinić (Star) – keyboards. Each of these musicians made a name for themselves by participating in numerous bands and projects, which is why Zmaj Orko Star can be considered a supergroup of a kind. Zoran Majstorović is most known for his work with the ZM Loose Trio and the Atma Mundi Ensemble, Borko Rupena is a member of Mary May, Big Band HRT-a and the Harlequin Art Collective, whereas Toni Starešinić partakes in Chui, Mangroove and Punk Data. The collaboration of this trio is based on improvisation which aims to create “a new European improvised music”, thereby consistently avoiding the anticipated improvisation hailing from the U.S., better known as free jazz. As opposed to the more common approaches to free improvisation which endlessly lead musicians from one idea to another, Zmaj Orko Star create shorter formats which length-wise resemble more standard pop songs.

Brlog craft market
Marketplace gathering with gastronomy and exchange of goods.
In cooperation with the Brlog cooperative brewery, we are bringing you Brlog Craft Market, a sales fair of eco products and handicrafts followed by gastronomy and exchange of goods.
Brlog craft market is a place to meet, laugh and chat in the atmosphere of an extended outdoor living room shaped as a fair/flea market. Brlog craft room entices and organizes a space for socializing and exchanging goods, accompanied by gastronomy and promo stands of eco products and handicrafts.
Small stands with various contents – such as craft beer, fanzines, handicrafts and food – will find their place opposite the festival stage, and everyone is invited to bring the little things they have no intention of using in the future. We invite everyone who creates and engages in manual work to come and present their products. Although several stands and additional ropes for exhibiting the products will be secured, we invite everyone interested to bring their own stand support, such as a table, a blanket or the similar. We strongly encourage the principles of exchange – take what you need and leave what you don’t need instead.
Brlog Craft Market opens at 6 PM, with free entrance until 8 PM. After 8 PM the visitors will be asked to either purchase the festival ticket or to leave the premises. Children are welcome and are not required to pay the festival ticket.
